We were approached by the developer Urban Splash to carry out the manufacture and installation of a bespoke set of automated steel gates for vehicles, to the entrance of their latest prestige development in Ancoats, Manchester.

The bespoke gate design was to be a main feature of the entire development, with a modern, industrial look being drawn from the building itself; a redeveloped former Victorian mill.

Ensuring that the aesthetics of the automated steel gates were to the high standards of the project’s lead Architect involved a number of meetings on site. The design consisted of vertical steel bars welded to the gate frame, with gaps between the steel bars to repeat throughout the entrance frontage.

The gate was automated using FAAC S800 underground, 180 degree motors. The gate’s safety features included photocells, E145 control panel and BEA laser curtain sensors. As with all of our automated gate installations, the features were designed to comply with Gate Safe safety guidance.

The automated gates installation was completed within the customer’s timescale, exceeding their high expectations. We look forward to further bespoke projects with this valued customer.
